• It’s the 5-day weekend, which also marks the start of Rest & Refuel Fridays for us at Shopify! I’m excited for the additional day for the next two months. I could use the rest but I must try not to stress about using that time “productively”.

  • Jae and I were in Toronto for a couple days. We went to Toronto Center Island for a hike and met up with my high school friends to play basketball - the most sociable I’ve been in a long time. We played in the blazing hot sun but got out just in time before the heat exhaustion fully kicked in.

  • We’ve decided to work from Vancouver for the month of August. I’m looking forward to the change in scenery. Gyms in British Columbia are open so it’ll be our first time working out at a gym in more than 6 months. The truth is, we’re also checking out Vancouver to see if we’ll like the city enough to move there full-time. I enjoy cities in small doses but maybe the accessible outdoor activities Vancouver has to offer will change my mind.

  • Now that I’m running regularly, I re-downloaded an app called Strava to track my runs. It seems like more people are on this app than when I used it a year ago. I’m hoping sharing my runs will keep me motivated and inspired to try new routes around the area.

  • I no longer have Slack on my phone but I still catch myself wanting to click on it. I also find it hard to disconnect from work, which really shows how much work is a big part of my daily routine.

  • Back after a long hiatus: Now at 50% of 1Q85.
