• It’s June!!!! My favourite month of the year because to me, it’s the start of summer and also my birth month. Last year this week, I had a huge cheat day and ate a ton of doughnuts.

  • I had the week off work. I noticed I only stopped thinking about work around Wednesday. I played a lot of PS4 early in the week. My partner works close to the living room TV so I couldn’t play on it during work hours. The alternative isn’t bad though, I played in bed on my iPad with PS Remote Play.

  • I played a lot of Horizon Zero Dawn. At first I found the machines extremely annoying to deal with, but after a while I don’t think it’s too bad anymore. The main storyline is quite interesting and unique. I went full gamer mode on Thursday and played for the entire evening from 4pm to midnight. I totally didn’t even plan on doing that but the game just got extremely engaging! I love that the game offers gameplay statistics - for example, I’m around 38% completed with the entire game. Only thing I dislike is that you can only climb the designated stone/rope. I guess I was spoiled from Breath of the Wild where you can climb on anything and everything.

  • We had a little staycation over the weekend. We got a pet-friendly hotel room downtown Kitchener (literally 15 minutes from home) and just took the puppy on a long evening walk to the park nearby. The change in scenery really helped with my mood because I was feeling stir-crazy from being home not focusing on anything productive the entire week.

  • We viewed another house - one that is on the same street as my parents’ home. I felt like it was fate, and we put in a great and clean offer, but we were outbid. We kind of assumed that the buyers were desperate because they overpaid for the house based on everything we know about it like year built, condition, location, and history of sold prices for similar listings. But maybe they aren’t? And that thought really scares me.

  • I played It Takes Two with my cousin. It was great and a fun bonding experience. The premise of the story is a couple who were about to get a divorce finding themselves turned in two dolls made by their daughter. And so they have to try to find a way to reverse the spell. Their bickering was quite toxic but I guess that’s the point. The puzzles and challenges were all very creative and fun - all the levels were unique in their own way.

  • Oh yeah, I turned 26 this week! I spent time with my family. (All of us are now vaccinated!) My brother and his girlfriend got me a really amazing gift box containing a variety of healthy snacks and protein bars. She also baked some cupcakes and a birthday cake for me which made me feel really touched and happy. I don’t usually do much for my birthday. I still feel like a child inside and I’m pretty sure adulthood is a huge scam. No one actually has their shit together but we’re told we must have solid shits?
